Microsoft CRM is Microsoft's Customer Relationship Management Solution. But what is one of those? In a nutshell, it's software that is used by companies the world over to mange everything to do with their customers. Pretty much anything that could possibly relate to a customer can be stored in the CRM system, some typical examples may include:
- Name & Address (seems blatantly obvious, but it is extremely important that these details are kept up to date and accurate, especially for any marketing activity)
- Purchase history
- Log of issues they may have encountered
- Special requirements they may have e.g. only deliver at weekends
The complexity of how deep a business uses CRM software depends on the business and the resources available to manage the data. CRM software can store customer information in a logical manner to suit any business model, but to be successful and improve customer relations it is a tool that should be utilised on a daily basis.
